Things You Will Need
1) An MTK android device
2) A fully registered and activated Glo Sim Card
3) Subscription on another sim to help download some apps
4) A Blackberry IMEI
5) Your time
6) Your thumbs to help do the job
STEP 1: Download and Install MTK Engineering Mode App Here
STEP 2: Launch the downloaded app and Swipe your screen one step to the left. From Telephony to Connectivity

Connectivity: CDS Information > Radio Information |
This is what you'll see after clicking on SIM 1 or SIM 2 in radio information. Here is where the whole thing lies. You can now change your IMEI from android to BB. Just Type "E" in the box where you see "AT" (Note: after the AT as seen in the photo) a pop up box will come up as seen in second photo. Click on AT+EGMR=1,7,"". Then edit, place your cursor in between the two " " and enter the IMEI you got from a BB phone. (Make sure you write down your old android IMEI in a safe place)
Click "SEND AT COMMAND" and Reboot your phone. Select the second option AT + EGMR=1,10,"" for SIM 2
STEP 4: Dial *#06# to check your new IMEI if it matches with the one you typed in.
Changing your phone's APN for Glo Mobile.
Path: Settings (Wireless and Networks) > More > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > GLO NG > Add new APN (Using the option button on your android)
Use these settings:
Name: Glo NG
APN: blackberry.net
Username: flat
password: flat
*Leave other fields as they are.
STEP 5: This is the last step and where you have to subscribe. Make sure you went through all these steps correctly and your glo sim card is inserted in the SIM spot where you changed your IMEI or else the blackberry plan won't be activated.
To subscribe, send BBCMONTH to 777 as a text message. You'ld get a service reply message and be told be remove and insert your battery after 1 hour. Do so and enjoy!!!
Meanwhile, Glo has new monthly data plans for android that I personally think are way better than this BB Plan. Check them out below.

Hi, nice one. Thumbs up! But I want to ask you, can this process be reversed if one isn't satisfied or it just doesn't work for any reason? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes, the process can be reversed. All you have to do is change the IMEI from the BB IMEI you put in before to your original android's IMEI. You use GravityBox for that. Thanks for the comment
DeletePls can it work on my Sony xperia sp smartphone? thx
ReplyDeleteYes, It should. Once the phone is rooted, every other thing will work. Thank you for dropping by
DeletePlease why am I getting this error message: GravityBox system framework not responding. Exiting. Ok...?
ReplyDeleteThe reason could be one of these.
Delete1) You installed GravityBox in your SD Card and not phone memory.
2) You haven't checked GravityBox in the Xposed installer "Module"
3) You haven't installed/updated the framework in Xposed installer.
Check Step 2-5. That's the fault, reboot your phone after installing framework. Thanks
Thanks. Got it. It works. Thanks a zillion.
